We send everyone our Christmas greeting in 1999.  Our prayers are that your lives have been full of many rewards.  Our year had high school graduation for Charles, many activities for Andy, and a quick vacation to Montana for Camille, Wayne and Andy.  Charles' vacation was a backpacking trip with his buddies in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming. In September, Wayne got away for a trek across Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior.
Andy is still active in music.  He plays drums for the Jazz Band and spends much of his summer and fall with marching band as a snare drummer.  As a sophomore he has joined the debate club and finds the meets thrilling and challenging.

Above is the River City Roundup Parade.  At the piano he is playing Moonlight Sonata for his spring recital and below is the Millard Days parade which is the first marching event in August.

Charles graduated from Millard North High School in May.  He is wearing a stole for being in National Honor Society and the cord is for placing in the upper part of his class.

We also enjoyed showing Wayne's folks, Marge and Gil, around Omaha.  This time we visited the SAC museum which has many large aircraft from WWII.  I think Dad got a kick out of the visit.  Wayne, Camille and Charles are standing in front of a SR-71.

Camille's mom, Dorothy is doing well and lives about 6 miles from us.  She enjoys attending the boys' performances and probably thinks they are growing up too fast.

To the right, Andy is watching over Charles' shoulder as he is setting up his new computer before heading off to college.

Charles is now a Freshman at University of Missouri at Rolla.  This is an engineering school of 4,000 which is about 90 miles southwest of St. Louis in the northern foothills to the Ozarks Mountains. Check out Charles' web site at UMR (http://www.umr.edu/~cculp/).  He is a pledge in the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and a trumpet player in the jazz band.  Next year his major will be mechanical engineering.  You can also view some pictures of his trip to the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming at his site.

Camille, Wayne and Andy went to Billings to visit Wayne's parents. We stopped by Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse on the way to Montana.  On the return we spent a night with Camille's sister Cathleen in Douglas. We were in Cheyenne for a day at the Frontier Days Rodeo and saw the Credence Clearwater Revisited and the Beach Boys (old men) at the evening grandstand show.

In April, Wayne finished a post graduate program with the Center for Program Management at the University of Denver.  This was a nine month program sponsored by USWEST.  For those of you that do not follow Wayne's employer,  USWEST and Qwest plan to merge in the second quarter of 2000.  Lately, much of his job has been preparing testimony and data responses for the state commissions in support of the merger.

In September, Wayne took a one week vacation to backpack the length of Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior.  The picture to the left is Lake Desor, which is one of the many lakes on the island and one of Wayne's favorite camp sights on the forty two mile trek.  Visit the web sight at http://www.tconl.com/~cculp/Isle_Royale/ for more pictures and a journal of his trek.
