Charles and Camille had an exciting 10 days in Italy with the high school Latin club. They did lots of sight seeing and had tired feet. Their trip when from Rome, to Florence, to Venice, to Bologna, to Assisi, and back to Rome.

Camille also got away to Whidbey Island (Puget Sound) to throw pots with Shelley (Wayne's sister). Shelley's studio owner didn't realize they had a couple of fanatics on his hands. He thought Camille would just stop by for an afternoon. They were there from morning to night for better than a week.

Charles is a senior and is looking forward to college. He still hasn't decided which school yet, but said he will announce to the world his choice on March 1. We made quite a few college visits this last year and he pretty set on engineering. He still enjoys play his trumpet and made all state band this fall.

Andy is a big freshman and still a drummer. He played Gil Bates on an Odyssey of the Mind team that did very well and still is taking piano. It is nice to hear him play some real nice music, as he grows older. He is also involved in Boy Scouts and made it to the district track meet as a hurdler last spring.

Marching band was exciting with both Charles and Andy in high school. Charles was a trumpet section leader and soloist. Andy's initiation was as a bass drummer.

We all had enjoyable vacations. Andy's highlight was as a ninth grader at the Mid-America Middle School Band Camp. He was a featured soloist on playing a trap set solo. We all went to the Culp family reunion in Red Lodge, Montana over the 4th of July. You can see the parade. Wayne, Andy, Charles, and brother-in-law Robert took advantage of the Big Horn Mountains for a 5-day backpacking trip. All we saw were elk, moose, and deer. There were no people and lots of mosquitoes and beautiful weather.

Wayne has been busy going back to school at the University of Denver. They have a graduate program in project management they put on for U S WEST. Wayne graduates on April 15 just 6 weeks before Charles' high school graduation.
