San Francisco Bay Area

On the beach, the windy beach.  Dylan and Dasha were good sports.  Charlene and Alan made sure we had fun on our first day.

The Golden Gate Bridge

Camille with Jackie and Bill in the Rodin Sculpture Garden at Stanford.

We caught an early morning flight and spent Saturday with Charlene, Alan, Dylan, and Dasha touring the Legion of Merit, seeing a Monet exhibit, and hanging out on the Bay.  You can see Alcatraz in the background.  Aunt Jackie and Bill took us to Stanford University.  Notice the neat Rodin sculpture garden.

The walls inside and outside the chapel at Stanford University are all mosaics.
 Isn't this beautiful?

Carmel and Monterey

We traveled to Santa Cruz and took a drive and walk through UC Santa Cruz.  Wayne had fish and chips  looking over the beach ... what else?  Then we made it to our B&B in Carmel that was one block off the beach.  That was our 30th anniversary and a special night.

The blue water to the left is at the Monterey Wharf.  We were dazzled by the aquarium in the morning.  Then we drove back through the golf courses on the peninsula.

Below is the Carmel Mission ... we just love the simplicity of the Franciscans.

We traveled CA Route 1 the whole trip ... this obviously was spectacular.  Camille thought the road was a little close to the cliff in many parts.

We toured the Hearst Castle ...  a place built by the rich and famous for the rich and famous.  We drank a lot of wine on the trip.  Wayne particularly enjoyed the the tasting
in Cambria.

Santa Barbara

We got to Santa Barbara just about the same time Andrew was returning from New Mexico from a work trip.  It is filled with shops and restraunts.  We did plenty of sight seeing, eating, drinking, and just enjoying ourselves.  There are more Sanata Barbara pictures on Andrew's page.
